Domenico Scopelliti graduated in medicine in 1986 at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" and specialized in Maxillofacial Surgery in 1991 at the Federico II University of Naples. He completed his professional training abroad. Since 2000 he has been Director of the UOC of Maxillofacial Surgery of ASL Roma E (today ASL Roma1). From 2009 to 2011 he was President of SILPS. Coordinator and promoter of training courses for doctors at SMORRL, of which he was President from 2006 to 2009. From 2000 to 2022 he was a volunteer of the Operation Smile Italia Onlus Foundation and from 2019 Vice President. Creator and promoter of the Smile House project, a multidisciplinary network for the treatment of facial deformities. From June 2022, the Operation Smile Italia Onlus Foundation changed its name to Smile House Fondazione ETS and Dr. Scopelliti was confirmed as Vice President. Since 2015 he has been a selected reserve of the Italian Navy with the rank of Corvette Captain.
