Carlson David S.

Dr. David S. Carlson receive a PhD at the University of Massachusetts (1974), and studied craniofacial anomalies at the University of Michigan (1974-1978). He then became professor at the University of Michigan in the Department of Anatomy and in the Department of Orthodontics & Pediatric Dentistry, as well as research scientist in the Center for Human Growth and Development (1978-1993). Dr. Carlson was chairman of the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Robert E. Gaylord Endowed Professor of Orthodontics at Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry (1993-2003), and Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies (2003-2016) of Texas A&M Health Science Center, where he is now Regents Professor Emeritus. Dr. Carlson has published over 150 research articles and book chapters, 13 edited books as part of the Craniofacial Growth Series, and over 200 research abstracts on the development, growth, and treatment of the craniofacial complex and craniofacial deformities.
