What are the craniofacial synostosis : clinical aspects and therapeutic path The pathophysiological and morphological aspects of the impaired cranial and facial growth in cranial and craniofacial synostoses are described and illustrated. craniofacial architecture. These structures thus altered cause vision, respiration and speech dysfunctions as well as facial dysmorphosis. Through the analysis of some clinical cases, a multidisciplinary clinical-instrumental evaluation is presented involving ophthalmologists, orthoptists, respiratory physiopathologists, pediatricians, geneticists, audiologists, orthodontists/craniofacial orthopedists and subsequently neurosurgeons, maxillofacial surgeons and anesthesiologists. The different phases of surgical and orthopedic treatment will also be shown. Particular attention will be given to orthopedic-orthodontic evaluations and treatments in the different ages of the patients' life and according to the different phenotypic penetrance that the different cases may present.
