Abstract

Class II Malocclusion Treatment with of Without Compliance in Growing Children

by Manzo Paolo

The success in the management of the skeletal II class malocclusion is strictly correlated with several factors. Following a correct diagnostic pathway, based mainly on the esthetic evaluation, a proper timing and adequate treatment plan and a suitable device have to be chosen. The treatment of these discrepancies are usually affected by a wide patient's collaboration. If the patient's collaboration is not reliable the treatment results could be partial and unsuccessful. Nowadays both young and adult patients have a very active and stressful lifestyle and this affects the therapy timing and results due to the collaboration decrease. We’ve to consider that today there's the chance to achieve treatment objectives with no compliance systems that allow the class II correction without the patient's work and so reducing the therapy time and the stress for both doctors and patients. The advantages and disadvantages of the no compliance compared with compliance systems will be examined during the lecture.
